Privacy Policy
We keep things simple at WordJelly, and that includes how we look after your information. This page explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

Who we are
WordJelly ("we", "us", "our") is an educational publisher based in the United Kingdom. We create printable language activity books for children, sold as digital PDF downloads through our shop on Etsy. Our website is wordjelly.com.
For the purposes of UK and EU data protection law, WordJelly is the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. You can reach us any time at info@wordjelly.com.
The short version
- We collect very little personal information, and we never sell it.
- Purchases happen on Etsy, so we never see your payment details.
- Analytics cookies are optional. In the UK and EU they are switched off unless you accept them.
- You can change your cookie choices whenever you like using the Cookie Preferences link in the footer.
The information we collect
Information you give us
If you contact us, we receive whatever you choose to include, usually your name, your email address and your message. Our contact form works through your own email app, so your message reaches us as an ordinary email.
Technical information
Our website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like most hosting providers, Cloudflare processes technical details such as IP addresses and browser information in server logs to deliver the site securely and protect it from attacks.
Analytics information
With your consent where required, we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site, for example which pages are most popular. This information is aggregated and does not identify you personally. You can read more in our Cookie Policy.
How we use your information
- Replying to you. We use your contact details to answer your questions and messages. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to people who write to us.
- Running and protecting the website. Technical data helps keep the site fast, reliable and secure. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in operating a safe website.
- Improving the website. Analytics helps us see what is working and what could be better. In the UK and EU our lawful basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Buying our books on Etsy
Our activity books are sold through Etsy. When you buy from our Etsy shop, your purchase and payment are handled by Etsy under its own terms and privacy policy, and Etsy is an independent controller of that information. Etsy shares limited order details with us as the seller, such as your name and what you ordered, so we can fulfil your purchase. We never receive your full payment details. You can read how Etsy handles your information in the Etsy Privacy Policy.
Cookies and analytics
We use a small number of cookies. Essential cookies keep the site working and remember your cookie choice. Optional analytics cookies power Google Analytics. If you are visiting from the UK or EU, analytics cookies are not set unless you accept them, and Google Analytics does not load until you do. If you reject them, analytics stays off. You can change your mind at any time using the Cookie Preferences link in the footer. Full details, including a list of every cookie we use, are in our Cookie Policy.
Who we share information with
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We share information only with the service providers who help us run WordJelly:
- Cloudflare, which hosts our website.
- Google, which provides analytics where you have allowed it.
- Etsy, which operates the marketplace where our books are sold.
- Our email provider, which handles messages sent to us.
International transfers
Some of our service providers, including Google, Cloudflare and Etsy, are based in the United States or operate globally. Where personal information is transferred outside the UK or the European Economic Area, we rely on recognised safeguards such as adequacy decisions and standard contractual clauses to protect it.
How long we keep information
We keep emails and messages only for as long as we need them to help you and to keep sensible business records. Analytics information is retained by Google Analytics for up to 14 months before being deleted automatically. Our consent cookie remembers your choice for 6 months.
Your rights in the UK and EU
If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Union, data protection law gives you rights over your personal information. You can ask us:
- for a copy of the information we hold about you;
- to correct information that is wrong;
- to delete your information;
- to limit or object to how we use it;
- to receive your information in a portable format;
- to withdraw consent at any time, for example for analytics cookies.
To use any of these rights, email us at info@wordjelly.com and we will respond promptly. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, or to your local data protection authority if you are in the EU.
Your privacy rights in the United States
If you are visiting from the United States, including California, you may have rights under state privacy laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA. These can include the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to access it, the right to correct it, the right to delete it, and the right not to be discriminated against for using your rights.
California residents also have the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. WordJelly does not sell personal information and does not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We also honour the Global Privacy Control signal: if your browser sends it, we treat it as an opt-out and analytics is switched off automatically. You can manage cookies at any time using the Cookie Preferences link in the footer, or contact us at info@wordjelly.com to exercise any of these rights.
Children
Our books are made for children, but our website and shop are designed for the parents, carers and teachers who buy them. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please email us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will publish the new version on this page and update the date at the top. Significant changes will be highlighted on the website.
